Driver Vision Requirements
According to the law, all drivers must demonstrate the ability to read a standard vehicle number plate from a distance of 20 metres. If needed, glasses or contact lenses can be used to meet this requirement.
To ensure compliance, drivers are required to undergo a vision check every six months, with the results properly recorded.
Eye Test Check
Follow these instructions to complete a self check eye test:
- Keep both eyes open during the test.
- Position yourself according to your screen size, the following are some suggestions based on screen sizes:
- For a 56cm-wide screen: Sit 112cm away.
- For a 33.5cm-wide screen: Sit 67cm away.
- For a 30cm-wide screen: Sit 60cm away.
Adjust proportionally for screens of other sizes (measure the screen width if unsure).
- If you wear glasses or contact lenses for driving, ensure you are wearing them while performing the test.
